WebIn 1944 the RCN acquired twelve British-built "Castle" Class corvettes (50 feet longer than our Flower Class corvette, but smaller than the River Class frigate). Along with these the RCN manned three "Loch" Class frigates, slightly larger than the River Class, which operated only in UK waters and were returned to the RN at war's end.
